I know I've asked this before, but this time I'm going to wire it up tomorrow. I have an aftermarket tacho that I want to put in. The wires coming out of it are:

black - earth/negative
red - power?
white - ?
green - ?

Can anyone clarify where these go please?

Black is earth
Red is 12v ignition power
White is 12v dash light wiring
Green is negative of your coil or tach output

100% correct.

There should be two terminals on teh coil one marks + the other - like your battery, the - one is the negitive terminal. Unscrew the nut put an eyelet on the wire and tighten the nut again....

Yes, should connect tacho wire to the side of coil going to the dizzy. Worth checking that this is how the -ve of the coil is in fact going to the dizzy too. I believe they will also work wired in back to front, but havent tried it myself.

To sum this thread up, the tacho I had didn't work, so I chucked it. Anyone got a cheap one going for a 6 Cyl?
