I have 2 LC GTRS plus various Toranas, my problem is 1GTR I obtained about 1987 and other 1992. Both dismantled and getting round to rebiulding now have 3 possible engines. So to put right one in right car need track original engine no,
Neither car had reg so cant go thru trans SA.
Any suggestions?

If you post up the build dates for the cars from the compliance plate and the engine numbers, provided there is a decent gap between the build dates others who own LC GTR's should be able to compare their engine numbers/build dates with yours to work out what goes with which.

A NOTHER way is two pm hg350 with the VIN she will find the right engine number
for your car mate no probs !

Do'nt have engine no. at present motors are buried in back of shed,

The blocks are also stamped with teh cast date. this might help in the location of which goes with what... makes it harder with a rogue motor though.....

Please post the engine numbers that you have and I will tell you exactly which car they belong to.

Strange comments. I do live in Adelaide Hills and find things often but don't sell much just fill up sheds and property, much to wife's discust.
As for the motors I fired up tactor and moved some gear so I could check nos.
One is actually a 186 block engine no has 3100X so is XU 1 not GTR.
Other 2 are 161 but only 1 is S so must be the GTR. Only problem no not very visible so will have to acid etch or something to clean it up.

not keen to post to public view. had trouble before when people buying one thing came back later and helped themself so don't sell from home or tell where things are kept. I know what I have and keep mum, watch listen and learn but will post pics of few cars when I work out system. Will try for weekend, have to move a few things around and cars at 2 venues. you may find them interesting
