I guess they used the wrong grease.

There is no shortage manual racks made in the last 20 years that use grease.


All Morris/Leyland Mini racks are over 30years old. I cant comment on the newer Rover items.

If they used too thin a grease it would just run out under hotter aussie conditions than UK conditions (Minis)
So maybe that was the issue... the factory grease didn't have enough tack to stay where it should
