If you fit a standard height V8 Torana spring which is around 650 lb then car will sit 20 mm lower than standard which would probably be about right.

Call Lovells or Kings springs, whatever heights they give you just allow for that fact the you effectively have a 20 mm drop stub axle.

You can always try the QA1 coil overs, a bit expensive arround $900 a pair. It lets you set your ride height and dampning all in one, has knobs to set rebound etc. I don't feel any harshness or floatiness with them. And takes seconds to adjust ride height if you get the torrington spacers for the base of the spring.

Thanks everyone for all the input . Think i have it sorted ,steering rack has spacers fitted in ends, hz calipers went straight onto the modified wb brackets ,top control arms dropped down 25mm and nothing hits so all good .Plus front and rear springs ordered and on their way. So again many thanks
regards coil

Finally got around to checking the part number on the A9X's steering rack and it is 9942632 (9/1977 build)

Sounds like a stock one - car may have had a rebuilt one at some stage and lost its original one.

How many turns lock to lock?

The A9X parts catalog lists a different gear assy 92001807, steering spacers 92001808 and 92001916 but there is no listing for the housing. Presumbably the LX housing is used.
