Rules are easy.

Fill up a tank and see how far you can get (Post Car Details/Engine type/Tank Capacity and km's done).

*Any time spent with secondaries open is your problem.
*Any time spent in heavy traffic is your problem.
*No 'top ups' - if you put more fuel in, your run ends.
**No extra points for actually running out of fuel.

Anything else goes - Neutral Coasting, Slowing up to lights but not stopping (ala trucks) - But not runnning the red :tease:, Cutting a hole in your floorpan and Flintstone pedalling, anything to maximise distance travelled per tank as long as it's legal.

GoGo!

[edit] I should have some decent 'old' [Still useable parts if not building a super-machine built for gaming] computer parts lying around for winners of each engine category - I dont think I have much left anymore so might have to keep it to two or three divisions :).
I have to see what I can find though :)

Unfortunately I don't have many small Torry parts lying around for prizes :P

95 charade
4 door hatchback
1.3 Ltr fuel injected bog stock four banger.
40 litre fuel tank

Distance traveled- 555km (was too scared to push the fuel gauge below about an eighth of a tank, its never been there and im not keen to push the bitch home)

Conditions- CONCRETE right foot.

Cheers, Chris

BTW- The mighty Charade has just developed a nasty rattle, might be time to sell her off. HAHA

i think the loosers should get the prizes.

at least then with the kms I get from the tank i know its worth the $$$ it costs me 2 use her as a daily driver. I reckon the last time i checked i got 200kms for 45lt.

Speaking of daily driver, there should definately b a category for daily driver and one for cruiser.

I was gunna fill 2morra anyways to do a check as Ruby has a new fuel pump and I wanna c if it has made any difference.

So Ruby and Kaz Accept your mission, I will post details once completed.

well i cant remember what my holdens consumption was when it was on the road, but in my daily driver nissan primera with a carby 1.8 in it i managed to get 750 k's on less than one 45 litre tank. it really seems to love long open road drives. Only manages between 550 and 600 k's on round town driving

Ok ok, cheating using Thimble sized everyday drivers isn't counting :)
The idea is to get the most out of an inefficient (i.e. the old 173 --> 308+'s ) old Torry engine :P
