I'd be looking at the carby first after experiencing a similar problem in 2010.
I changed the fuel pump, removed the drop tank and had in professionallly cleaned, changed fuel filter and played with the fuel line and it didn't change a thing. Had the carby rebuilt by a professional and the problem went away.
Wish I had done that first but sometimes its a process of elimination.

i had this problem too, i would give it a good squirt and it would run out of fuel before i could reach a 1/4 mile. I ended up raising the float level and cleaning the filter at the front of the carb and haven't had a problem since.

Just went out and had a drive with 60 litres in the tank.. and the problem stopped.
Engine now pulls hard right through the rev range and doesn't die or cough...
So I'm guessing its an issue with my tank/pickup. Its a Brown Davis tank and I presumed it was baffled etc to stop problems like this occurring...

Sometimes the standard pickup is not deep enough for the drop tank, also there is usually no swerl pot in the bottom creating it's own surge issue.

Another good thing to try with a quaddie is to taper the needles down to a nice point so it will richen it up abit. just make sure u dont take any off the length or they can fall out of the jets when the secondarys open fully.
