Does a 1979 4 door RS 2000 escort qualify as unusual? only a total of 2400 of them made in Australia and many destroyed over the years through rally ect..also owned a 1977 RA28 mustang shape celica with a 302 windsor..which later got written off in a headon smash.

1 of 3, Lakeside green/ sandalwood trim, LC gtr. There were 3 sandalwood and 3 black trim LC gtr's, no xu1' s and about 14 monaro's. The colour was deleted in Jul/Aug 1970 and my gtr was built after the was deleted. Sold it due to be really stuffed and needing reshelling. Don't know where it is anymore but when I find it and it's been rebuilt I want see now they fixed it. By the time you did rebuild it the only org parts would be the tags and one inner guard.

I have got the 34th clubsport ever made , it's a 6/90 VN , it is from the first batch of 60 that were made to test the viability of a cheap hsv , they went on to become the highest selling hsv model .

Hi All,

Wish I still had this old girl now, Holden HQ STATESMAN 'CUSTOM', from memory before there was even a Deville or Caprice.

(unfortunately lost a lot of photos of Statey and others over the years, so hope these scans of old pics are ok).

Again from memory, made for the taxi market with front bench seat (fold down middle) and could get plain as 6 cylinder wind up windows or (I think) 253 on column Auto.

I lowered her and wires went on, 1978??.

Had the 1960 Pontiac LAURENTIAN in the mid 1980s (Trans Ams and Camaro as well, but this old girl I think fits in as unusual).

Ran a corvette 350 chev motor, and (can't remember now) either 11 or 12 inch rear tyres, which fitted under guards with no hassles , very quick but needed a landing strip to stop in the wet.

And just to make every body feel sad, had 6 of these NIGHTMARES in a Wedding Car Business I had in 1980s (3 Sixes and 3 V12s).

Put some more cars up when I can find Pictures of them,

Daveml.

Laurentian,,

And 2 of the dam things heading off to a wedding.

what about the xw in the pic?a rare car in its own right now.my ex girlfriends dad had a hq custom back in the mid 80's.they lived on a farm and it rolled into the dam when they were opening and shutting gates.it spent the rest of its life with a diesel in it.bush cures lol.it was gold with a brownish vinyl roof and i remember it sat up like an overlander with the v8 springs and the lighter diesel engine in it.it was a column shift but i think it was a manual.

Not the rarest car but I did own two HQ SS's at one stage. The red one "fell over" 5 times one night at great speed on a country road 1 mile from home. Took a forced eight month break from work with a multiple broken femur. Was very lucky. Was so impressed with the red one I went out and bought a purple (ultra violet) one.

My oldest brother had a Commodore VB SLE 308 factory 4 speed at one stage but didn't realise until many years later only 200 were built.
