Guys,
Ive picked up another set of wheels for my SS hatch. Ive got a set of 14 inch dragway draglights. 2 of 14x5's with 195/60 14 for the front, the rear is 14x8 wheels. .
Would a 225/55 14 be the widest I can go on the rear wheels without scraping while carrying passengers? or will a 235 50 14 fit ok? I think with the 8 inch wheels and no flares and rear guards not being rolled, 225s might be as wide as I can go.
can anyone confirm a suitable tyre size for me?

cheers
Matt

Is the car lowered? If so, how much?

I am not 100% on the difference in track between the UC's and LX/LH's, but i have 225/60/14's on my UC at the moment with the car being lowered too. My wheels are 14 by 6's and even when loaded the tyre sits under the guard without scraping at all. I am running the same tyres at the front and had to roll the lip of the guard up to prevent it cutting the front tyres.

Maybe some of the LH/LX boys can confirm this...

My SS is lowered approx 2 inches front and rear. To match the front profile of 195/60 14, i require a 225/55 14. However, I am not having any luck in tracking down any tyres in the 225/55. Can anyone help out here? as I would like to try and keep the 195/60 14 tyres on the front and get a matching profile on the rear but with 205-225 tyres.

it all depends on the offset of the rim... My mate has 245's on the back of a flareless lx... he is running Dragway Indies....

225 would be the most comfortable fit and probably never scrub, but a 235 would prob still fit ok....

The offset of the rims seems to be suited very well for an LX hatch and im gonna go as wide as possible. the main problem im finding now is availability of tyres. I thought moving up from 13 inch to 14 would make tyre choice alot easier...it seems to have made no difference at all. might have to get a set of 16's instead maybe.
cheers guys
Matt.
