axle cut and respline

any probs with going ahead and using it without and if not what is the recommended treatment?

common guys anyboby had problems with their axles in 9" or B/W diff conversion or is everybody running billet axles.

i may be asking the wrong question but im after a treatment that goes skin deep to protect the spline from damage.The bw axles are not a cut spline they are a presed spline. so they compress the steel to make the splines therefopre no heat treatment is required as the axles have not had there splines cut. ie no heat.

is this process called hardening, not heat treatment.
then again i really dont know and may be machined axles need both treatments.
may be they dont need anything as ive been told.
