The only problem is that he doesnt have any money.
Anyway I thought it would good to do a project together and looked around for a truck. Finally came across one
He will have to fit a 6 cylinder so we have been advised to buy a VS Commodore as a donor car and will fit the engine, box and diff, wiring loom and seats.
Plans include putting it on air bags, jag front end, shaved door handles plus whatever he sees looking on the internet.
He has started stripping it ready for the chassis work to box the frame and fabricate mounts for the front end and engine/box.
Spoke to one specialist so far but if anyone knows someone in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne who can do this work well let me know and I will pay them a visit

You should fit a Chev 292 inline six and four speed instead of scummy VS shit.
Cheers.

I would rather not have to buy a donor vehicle and have all the aggro of stripping it

Best thing about that combo is you wont have to call your old man and tell him your gay, you would if you fitted an injected V6.
Cheers.

I am happy that he is spending what limited spare time he has on something productive plus the wife hasnt quite worked out that we now have another car in the family.

Speak with Glenn Rulach at Airide in Bayswater.
He has a 56 Chevy pick up, knows all about Chevs and air bags.
Thanks for the contact. I will give him a call. Does he do any fabrication work?
A few more pics from the saturday. Joe has managed to unbolt almost all the front now. Doesnt look like anything has been apart on this since it was built.

Looks like a nice start to a project !
They are reproducing a bit for those model trucks now too, if you need anything just holler, I can get it through Classic Industries and my mate is just around the corner from you in Lilydale..

Have been told there is a bloke in croydon who works from home who is pretty good but cant locate him.
Also cant find a single 292 engine for sale. If anyone knows of one let me know otherwise we will be going with the v6 that hasnt got a lot of supporters
