The article does say "The limited production derivative of the upcoming VF Commodore will arrive in North American showrooms late next year. It will be the first time in 17 years that Chevrolet will offer a rear-wheel-drive sedan for sale in the US." So I guess by that it has four doors?
None-the-less, a Commodore in NASCAR..... frOcking awesome !!

Just where the rear wheel sits in relation to the rear window. But as you say it is comouflaged, but looking at it again it looks like Lightning McQueen, oh wont the kids be happy.

It has Coupe 60 DNA in the front bumper and fender openings that never made it to VEII.
The Camaro is likely the closest thing we will ever see to a road going two door made from the Commodore architecture unfortunately.
As for NASCAR, they are all silhouhette/formula spec. racers of a two door style though they have no doors to speak of, but by no means does a NASCAR body suggest a two door Commodore sorry to say.
But that photo from Auto Action of next year's COTF VE Supercar looks bloody horn!
Cheers, TB

By the way they were talking intially the car will be intially sourced from Australia till production starts in North America
Maybe they are hedging their bets to see how the public reacts, if its a winner they will set up there factories and if it fails, well the Aussies can have there Commodore and the USA will invest in something else

Thought nothing of it till i went by, then realised they might be USA bound, as i had previously heard that GMH had stopped shipping to the middle east.
Only saw the front of the cars.
Regards,
Daryl.

I am corrected, as sloper 35's link shows that they are still available in ME.
Cheers,
Daryl.
