Ah of course, forgot about the welding rule; I wonder if there is a way to drill and tap a tiny hole for a set screw or something silly, or otherwise remove the valve entirely?

we have a seat and tread on rear tyres I changed the rear tyres from 32 x 16 x 15 slicks to 31 x 16.5 x 15 hoosier quick times in doing this i found the rear rims are 14s not 12s so I thought that's a bonus
now I have a seat I can start to mount steering column and pedals its starting to look more and more like a car :driving:
cheers

Have not been doing much car shit lately fishing has been good tho

Have made new 4 bars cro moly now and started to think about steering column have looked at ididit and flamein river tilt columns but not aloud over here  because they have welded bits in them

so thought about shorting the torana one  this is where I'm stuck  has any body pulled this end off I've taken out roll pin sprayed CRC but it wont move are they pressed in or threaded in

I want to take about 140mm off it  if possible

cheers

Went and brought this bearing $21.00 chop down the outer  column about 100mm pushed the old plastic bearing holder up in there then the bearing and factory clip back  then cut 80mm off top inside column and 60mm bottom pushed out roll pin took the top inside and put on bottom re-drilled press roll pin back in that gave me a double D shaft on bottom to match rack.

Then drilled out spot welds on mounting bracket move to top side welded back on. so now we have steering :driving:

Well for all you unlucky Aussies I had my first cert inspection on Monday it  PASSED that is the first time the cert man has seen my car was happy with it

I had to tie the A & B pillars to the roll cage, put some more bracing to peddle bracket  and change the bottom of the steering all has been done.

Makes me pretty happy with me efforts so far.

one thing that maybe a concern is the weight the car has to weigh in at under 1200kg for the size of the chassis been 3x2 that was our aim but do have way round that if we need to.

So defiantly a street car :driving: yeah-arr  jealous much!!!!
