I have been told the genuine XU1 heads are the best to modify, the only question is how do you identify them.

I am fairly sure that 2815843 is one but am unsure if there are any others.

Also what sort of head is a 2811929

2815843 is the only head that came on an xu1.There is no other..From the early lc xu1 to the 73 bathurst all had 2815843 but with different casting dates. That other number you quoted sounds like an lj gtr head. All an xu1 head is , is a 161 high compression..I dont believe they are any different than a normal one apart from the head numbers.

I work ina wrecking yard and have been looking at every 6 cyl red motor that comes through in the hope of finding an xu-1 cylinder head or even engine block.(I know i,m dreaming, but you never know.)Just about every one of them from ht through to hx has either casting no:2811929 or 2811930 on them,so I assume they are just standard heads. But definately xu-1 heads are only casting no:2815843 as was statesd in previous post.
