Maybe they noticed our little campaign for Torana SM and chucked one on the cover instead to keep us happy. Its one of those either you like it or hate it type cars. I don't think I've ever seen a more disgusting interior in my life, urrgh. Heck of a lot of time, effort and skill gone into it tho, whatever floats your boat I suppose.

Peace,

jeez its not out to the general public till next week!

This is a complete guess, but is it the Anaconda LX Hatch that someone posted pics of a lil while back?

Yellow, almost completely airbrushed, huge fibreglass interior.

hahaha yeah I don't like that one very much at all. Everything that is availible has just been bolted onto it; yuck.

I dont see how everything has been bolted to it. The dash is a work of art, the rear seat is all moulded, might not be everyones cup of tea but that stuff takes more than a 5 min bolt together, or if it is bolt together would someone mind whipping me up a one off interior like that

Okay, "Bolted On" obviously wasn't the best expression. I will rephrase my sentence.

Everything that is availible has just been installed on it; yuck.

Yes, it's a work of art. I'm an airbrush artist and I can appreciate a hell of a lot of aspects on that car, but any car needs certain focus points, and in contrast to that, it needs certain plain areas, which this LX doesn't have.

Can anyone actually tell me what car is on the SM Cover before we continue our conversation possibly down the wrong path?

Considering you said that the interior's ugly, I instantly thought of exactly the same car as RIM lol. I mean... seat bulges? Guages mounted past the end of the non-existant glovebox? "it doesn't do it for me" is a severe understatement.

It would be substancially better if the front rubber filled the guards (the rear does an acceptable job). But Billets and Flares just don't go together; hense why i said everything availible to it has been bolted on.

Also, everything has been painted. Everything is either aftermarket chrome, or yellow, or brushed, you can't see the natural lines of anything because it's all been fibreglassed over.

Look I'll let it go because it's a Showcar, but next time when I see an engine like that I wanna be able to see badly damaged paintwork behind the rear tyres.

That Anaconda LX has a feature article in the latest Queensland Street Car mag, my initial reaction was WOW! I reckon it's unreal. Heaps of metal through the bonnet, and THOSE WHEELS ARE OUTTA CONTROL!!! Especially the rears. Love the custom dash, that's something I would love in my car. Love the interior too. As for the graphics themselves, mmmm they look good and make the car a one-of-a-kind, so I'm kinda 50/50 on them. The car wouldn't be the same without them though that's for sure, not plain yellow, so overall I don't mind them.

So is it the same car on the cover of Street Machine???

Wait until you see under the bonnet. Say goodbye to relocating the battery, carbon canister, brake booster, wiring and washer bottles; This thing has huge airbrushed fibreglass mouldings over it all! haha

Its an acquired taste, I guess. also in SM are a few "5000" Toranas in the readers cars section though none appear to have all the 5000 body work..... There is also a letter to the editior begging for a Torana only magazine (one-of presumeably)

Not a fan of the car - Yes RIM, it is Anaconda.

And considering it has a current rego label, some engineer better be sweating having certified that car with no headrests OR speedo........

Sweet, what a guess.

The submitted bit should just be from the GMH-Torana.com forums, so many of us put one in.

Yeah, guys, sorry, was away for the weekend. As someone has said, it is the yellow anaconda LX hatch. The exterior I have no problem with, its something that has been seen plenty of times before, but the interior is just WAY over the top. Someone obviously discovered how to use fibreglass, because it is just everywhere. The boot is all glassed our with subs and NOS bottle and contours, all brushed. The dash is also a custom glass job with contours and 'bubbles' or knobs or whatever you want to call it, everywhere. The guages have been moulded into the glass dash above the centre console space - which sits out into the cab about 10" i reckon! Terrible. Glovebox has been replaced with screen etc. etc. etc.

Magnificant skills, but ugly to my eyes.

The readers letter is from 'Alex' on email?? Anyone from here?? Suggesting a special on toranas.

Edit: Gotta say though the Val featured is awesome!

Mate... Its RIM or Tim. Rimmy defies the purpose. (because you cant fit Rimmy-10 on a number plate.) RIM-010 = TIM-REHN

Is it somethin to do with ADR 27?
