I quite like those Celicas, thought this one was very nice until it came to the wheels:

Yeah, great body shape i wouldnt mind having another one but they are hard to find! i've always said wheels make or break a car..poor wheel choice can make a nice car look really average.

mr5000: The RA28, has a huge engine bay its perfect for a V8 the 302 fits nicely with plenty of clearance for headers, i used stock cast manifolds on mine for extra room but it fit easily.

You can drop a 308 into one of those Celicas in a day using a Hilux conversion kit,LH manifolds and a HK sump..

An old buddy did it several times,I knew the cars very well.

Use the celica 5 speed,Dellow bellhousing and engine mounts.

He also used struts out of an 80ish Corona that allowed decent brakes to bolt up.

I cant remember now if it was foulcan discs and HX calipers,or HX rotors and foulcan calipers.Might have been p76 rotors,it was a long time ago.

It was all bolt up budget wrecking yard stuff at the time.

He used a shortened Commodore diff.

This was all in the late 80s early 90s.

Sounds good.Do know if he had any trouble with the gearbox input shaft lenght. The reason i am asking is that i have a old hilux conversion kit for a 202 and was going to use in my torana.
But i didn't know if the early gearboxes had a longer input shaft like the latter 4wd gearboxes.
