I went to sandown today for the Shannona car show and it was great. Weather held out and there were a lot of cars there. Good torana turn out too. I met a few of the forumn members..LXCHEV..EHGIRL and Heath.. and Olden64.. There were some very nice cars there and some very nice torries. I was spewin that i couldnt get my A9X there as i was waiting for the Quaddie to arrive from Sydney. I took my sweet little 4 door lj for a drive and i can tell you that i really enjot driving it and listening to am on the radio. Got some good comments on her today. Stood up pretty well with the other un restored cars too. Anyway would be good to hear from others that attended today..TINY...Help me...I have photos and dont know how to post..

Cheers.Phil

Hey Pip, great to have finally put name to face... Did you have the car on display? or did I miss it, there was way too much there today and my body was very very sore afterwards.

Pip I can assist with picks if needed... ;)

Cheers

I didn't see you guys.

I have tonnes of photos... I think I'll have to open up a second Photobucket album to fit them all in :P

Will upload, and I'll write an article on the VTC Website later today. I have another car or two to put up there as well :spoton:

P.S. Thankyou tonnes to Oldn64 who went like 50km out of his way to get to my house, twice! I think we both had a great day after two hours of sleep :D

G'day Pip, was great to catch up with you yesterday (and everyone else I bumped into as well). I'm looking forward to seeing your A9X in the flesh sometime.

As for the show - it was good to see a fairly good turnout of Torana's, plus heaps of other stuff too. The cars on display filled my head with bad ideas (ie. cool stuff that costs $$$$$). I got interviewed standing next to my LX by a guy who was making a DVD of the day, I wonder what that will turn out like (I am no movie star I can tell you).

Anyway, there is another show coming up in October (run by the same crew, and back at Sandown), but instead of 'All Aussie' it's going to be more 'Modified' stuff. Looking forward to that one for sure.

Ooooh, Geee, I dunno mate... can smell rice cooking!

I wish I had a couple more hours (and 1 less child!!!) to walk around and spend some time on the cars...it was a bit of a walk through for me just to get to see everything.... but a great turn out of cars and some real quality too! How nice was that HZ(?) with the dumpers out the back, Brett?

Any pix?

Heath do you just want to email them to me?

You didn't happen to get a photo of the 2 door P76 i think they are called a force7 or P47? my old man used to have a P76 and i know he would love to see a pic of that P47.

Hmm, the orange on that Leyland ^^^ would look pretty good on a Non-Flared, non-spoilered LX, mefinx...

Great pics Heath, that XB GT in the first pics looks awesome!

and the White SS... Pure Heaven.

They were called (or would have if they made it to production) a Force 7. I have an owners handbook for one here somewhere that I scammed from Leyland when they went gazunder.

I should have known that as i used to work for Mini Bits in springvale, we worked on all pomy cars and the P76, the boss used to be the president of the P76 club so we would always see them in the work shop, my memory must be slipping.
