Hi guys 1st gear in my v8 m20 in my lj 5 litre has shit itself :furious: my question is i can buy a complete celica 5 speed conversion to suit a lc 6 cyl what would i have to do to make it fit the v8 besides a new bellhousing would i have to change the front input shaft and how much stronger are the celica boxs as my lj 308 is not stock also does the gear stick come out the same hole any help would be great

Gday mate,
I think a supra gearbox would be a bit better in your car.
u can usually pick these up fairly cheap in the trading post.
if u have trouble finding one give us a bell

stick position may be the samedepending on what it came out of.
there are many different bellhousings for this conversion, ensure you purchase one with your clutch linkage in mind or you will have to change that aswell.
input shaft stays but you will need a toyota clutch plate.
celica box is only as strong as how hard you treat it, meaning it will support a mild V8 if you drive it with a fluid motion changing gears. if you gonna smash it on the red line thru each gear every day then this might not be the box for you.
