Hi Guys.

The capacitor you a refrerring to is only a radio noise suppressor. It runs from the coil +ve to ground.

The HEI's operation won't be affected by it being there or not. If you have a 12v ignition noise problem in your car's audio system you will probably need one.

Dr Terry.

Hi guys, the capacitor is there not only for radio noise suppression but for HEI system spike suppression, to prevent damage to the HEI, hope this helps. :D
