that would be great to see, i got the feeling a twin turbo Nissan V8 with similar capacity (bigger than standard 4.5ltr) will give a push rod V8 a run for its money, its hard to beat modern design and technology sometimes.
Still a throbing chevy or Holden V8 are soooooo sweet.

yer its been known for years that turbos make the numbers. its just
there just not as much as a crowd pleaser as a blown hemi!
people go to here the noise of a mighty blown V8 , although in saying that looking at mr mads car its verymuch a crowd pleaser! top vid :spoton:

cheers

How come Turbo's are always making the big horses unlike Blowers?

They are more efficient because they use 'waste energy' from the exaust to spin the turbine whilst a blower/supercharger will use energy directly from the engine to spin it, creating resistance and thus using power to create power.

Other than that Liam.W, superchargers still have their advantages like having the power available at bottom end (revs) and linear all the way up, whilst most turbos need to spool up. A lot of people still prefer the supercharger for short distance drags and for this reason and the simple fact that they are more classic and have more character for an older car. I also hear a lot of claims that Superchargers/Blowers are more reliable than Turbos.

Overall you'll find Turbos can generate more boost with a lot less use of energy from the system to generate it than compared to a supercharger/blower.

Rick has answered that question perfectly! With the technology advances in turbo charging they are quickly becoming the thing to beat in all forms of racing!!

(Take a look at the flames MR MAD is belching on the start line.. My bet is its got a fuel injector aimed squarely at the exhaust impellor of the turbo to create exhaust and therefore spooling the turbo before the throttles are wide open on the green light!)

Anyway, I have the utmost respect for these pioneers.. they've defintiely gotten their machines to run some highly impressive numbers!

Still as Dave720 said... nothing beats the spectacle of a blown Nitro hemi :)

Cheers!
