Hi joe,
I just got a reply from John Henman about this and because WSID have stepped up use of the track for a variety of uses, there are few to no weekend bookings available for our kind of days.

What they have offered is booking of one or two (as needed) staging lanes for our use on a Sunday street meet.
This means - $55 racing instead of $200 per racer, more open classes (normal street meet rules) and less hassles for the organizer!

As such I have opted to take the best of the offered available Sunday dates, that is:

SUNDAY 29th SEPTEMBER.

I will wait for 100%confirmation from John, but it all sounds very positive!

Hope our members will enjoy this option, I personally think it is a good option!

Correct!!

I've actually just confirmed with John Henman that all rules are the same as a street meet (9.0 cut off!! And super sedans must be muffled), but other than that its all good!!
Hope you will be there lee!!

I also took it upon myself to book a date as there were only 3 in offer!

So we have officially booked 29th September as our lane bookings!

Was hoping something would pop up! Whats the car limits for the lanes. And im guessing this means less runs during the day than the private day? But should still be good!

When I get to a computer ill paste all the info I have!

Yep, we will have less runs than a full private day, but honestly, by the end if our private days not many are running anyway!

The benefits if having a variety of cars and our own lane/lanes means that there is no minimum OR maximum cut offs!!
Also we can invite many more members like lee and struggler with cars that previously couldn't run with 11 cut off!

Cheers!

Does this mean we can still race each other (as in they take 2 from our lane each time?)

Yeah we had the private lane on a wednesday night once. It means we are all in say lane 7 and 8. They only let on lane through at a time so all of lane 7 will race, then they move on to lane 8.

ahh ok.

I'd be keen to come run whatever I have going at the time... lol.

How does it work with drivers? you pay twice if you want more than one driver or can you both pay for seperate cars, then swap cars?

How many cars in a lane Tiny? Am keen to come along and maybe bring some mates (if there's enough spots).

Cheers,
Broads

A mate of mine knows one of the head honchos down at WSID, so I hit him up about the private day thing,

apparently still doable if you know the right people?

Seems a bit unfair hey.

There are no weekend available this year for private days, hence why John Henman could not
Book us one!

I don't think there is anyone higher than the operations manager to talk to? I get on quite well with John and i thought this solution was a good one!

Not having a dig Tiny, so dont take it that way.....

I just asked what the go with private days was and got the answer back that they are still happening for certain people.... thought it was interesting... and I didnt say that the solution was a bad one ;)

Not taken like that at all Chirs!

John IS the ops manager, and he told me there were simply no more weekends available and there were 3 other clubs also asking for dates!

I think whoever you are speaking with has either gotten in early, or gotten some wrong info cause it's not "who you know" in this instance.

Mitch: I can ask, BUT... we would have to pay Jason, and i know he works most weekends on other sporting events. I think it would be VERY difficult to ask the people whoever turn up to pay for the photos, and get enough to pay Jason's costs.

I also think there will be other "normal" drags photographers there, so i dont know if it would be worth it for jase?

Cheers!

Yeah no worries, of course we would pay. Im more inclined to pay a bloke who has a relationship with our community and we know, over the normal photographers, but thats just me. Cant say iv bought a photo from badger or cackling pipes, but iv been stoked with Jason's over the years!

Ive bought from Phill at badger before,  And i'd much rather see jason with the work as he has always supported us!

I Will ask jase how much eh would need to make it worth his while and see if he is free and come back here with some ideas!

Cheers

*BUMP* - Just to get an idea of who's coming along, could you list your name below.

It doesn't look like Jse will be available for this to photograph as he has other work commitments on weekends now.

1) TINY and Mrs Tiny - HQ COUPE

2)
