LJ accelerator setup -heel toe

Im starting to do a few track days here and there and I want to setup my LJ accelerator to be better suited for heel and toe.
My current setup is standard LJ accelerator pedal with mechanical linkages to triple stromberg as per XU1.
I was thinking of fitting a piece of flat bar to the original floor holes and then mounting the pedal a few cms closer to the brake pedal. I think I would also have to change to a cable setup, I have a VK commy cable and bracket that I might be able to modify to suit.
Just wondering what other guys have done? I saw a nice setup on a pink group nc torana at the Easter historic weekend at Mallala but didn't get a chance to ask what the pedal was out of.
Have heard people use a Gemini pedal?
Cheers
Dave

LC peddle is the way to go
or alternatively take the swivel out of the LJ peddle by cable tying the top plastic pad to the metal accelerator bar .

I have a size 12, so i cant heel toe in a little torana lol.
What i used to do is have half my foot on the brake and roll my ankle to blip the throttle with the little toe side of the foot.....
Cheers.

I made up a pedal for the "Grease Slapper" for the same reason. Simple flat pedal with a hinge to the floor.
The Commodore pedal is similar to LJ so it shouldn't be hard to make one to suit?

Even easier is to leave it in the shed and go much faster in the Torino.

Thanks Bathurst racer, my daily drive (WRX - don't judge me) is much quicker but there is just a certain buzz I get when firing up the straight six!

Not sure if any mods are required to mount the actual pedal though...

I'm running an HQ pedal, with a cable...
Also size 13 stompers, so heel/toeing is a bit of a laugh... I can't help but have my foot on both pedals haha

Or an oxy, or a grinder and welder.

Sometimes those clamp-on pedal pads (yeah I know it sounds cheap) can work quite well on the accelerator pedal, they add a bit of width in the right area to bring things closer together and also a bit of height to bring it up a bit closer to your foot
I have seen a few guys with those Monza pedals and they do close the gap by quite a decent margin. I think the other problem is the height of the accelerator, it sits a little low. But I can sort that out.
I have a size 12 shoe too, you guys must wear shoes shaped like tennis racquets! I can hit both pedals but thought it would be a good idea to close the gap.
Thanks for the info guys.

Thanks Dave!
Got a bit of heel toe practice in last month but only got about 15 laps in. I had some rockers come loose and a couple of camshaft bearings started to spin off too. Engine is currently out and changing all gaskets and putting in a new cam more suited for the track. So looking forward to a much quicker car. Slowly developing from a daily drive to a race car. Can't believe how much better the car was just from rebuilding front end, new springs and shocks, negative camber, pos castor. plus locked diff, semi slicks and a set of triples. Knocked 6 seconds off my time from those mods, still pretty slow but I've only been out twice. Still need to modify the accelerator pedal to sit higher, it sits far too low.
Should be back out at the next Austin 7 club track day in July.
