My wifes friend came around today and showed me the pictures of this XU1, he sold with no engine. He put the JP in this

hahaah nice one.. these are the things that people did back in teh day when they were nothing more exciting than a current SS commodore or XR6T fowlcoon...

Bet it woulda moved! Dunno about the pulley past the bodywork though! LOL

about 15 years ago a friend of mine installed a modified leyland 4.4 V8 into one of these but a fastback and it pull wheel stands all day long and almost every traffic lights it was insane,the car also got featured in one of the magazines but can't remember which one.

I instantly thought it was a Peugeot, and I still think it is, only now I'm less confident.

type 3 notchback VW, I prefer the fastback ones my self....

Yes it is a VW type 3 notchback.The fastbacks look quite trick when done up with taste.

Yep it's would wheel off very set of lights. Can't do that in an XU1.
