yes they are..all K&N air filters are wrapped in a plastic bag so yours must have been opened and removed

by the way Rycos DONT  come sealed in plastic or even a plastic bag...(the ones in a box atleast)

well there you go..

the k&n i bought wasnt plastic sealed and the ryco's i have been buying are plastic sealed?

thats weird

Put in the HP2003 K&N oil filter last week and it seems to be running well. Oil pressure is functioning the same as the previous filter which was an AC Delco. Pressure tends to run at 3/4 after initail start up then drops off to about 1/4-1/2 when warmed up and in normal running conditions. Funny that when I really thrash it the pressure drops right off.

Correction to the above statement.

Just took the car for a run and when starting up cold oil pressure rises immediately to 3/4. After warming it up for a few minutes took the car out and once the temp needle got to the first indicator the oil pressure seemed to run at 1/2. After the engine warmed up to about 1/4 the oil pressure continued to run at about 1/2. Then I gave it a bit for a few minutes taking the engine up to about 4500-5000rpm and the oil pressure continued to run around 1/2. Only when I pulled up at the lights and the engine was idleing was when the oil pressure dropped off. Hopefully this sounds like its all running normally.

In regards to the earlier statement of the engine losing oil pressure when its gunned I am guessing I must have looked at the gauge when the engine was idleing shortly after.

My 308 reads the same as yours.  I have the original gauges and use a Ryco oil filter. My old hatch with the 253 was the nearly the same but read slightly lower as the motor was getting tired and has not been rebuilt.

After a hard charge through the first three gears a long heavy brake stop would usually make the engine oil warning light flicker for a sec or so. Never came to any grief, spoke to Izzy at COME and he said the oil pressure used to drop to nothing for a few secs at the end of an 8 sec quarter with the 383 Holden in the little yellow COME1 Torana. He never found any oil wear related issues when it was pulled down after lots of runs.
