So the original 173 in my UC is the same comp as a HJ 173 ?

Same engine as a HZ or VB Commodore, the auto ones are even from the HZ engine number sequence with an X in front of the number.

Heaps made in VC-VH plus the same engine was in WB.

The rarest Holden engine would have to be one that doesn't leak oil from the rear main seal.

For Super and Standard fuels.

Probably today, like 179 with HP on the side they are all just about used up. All 308's had HP on the side from the start of HT in Brougham through to late in 1969. 253 were blank on the side at the time just like 149 in early EH.

Overhead cam 304? WAs that fitted by holden?

Yes Bomber there was only one made as a prototype that was fitted and tested at lang lang but it didnt make the grade so it was caned

This engine doesn't count any way as its a prototype not fitted to a released production car

201, its marvelous what you can do with photoshop these days?

Anyone seen a QM  HQ - Z   202 there would not have been many of these low compression versions made or supplied locally, I saw one at the wreckers once, so I bought it?

The dual date in either 173 or 202 with a CD or QL prefix would be quite rare too, possibly rarer than the 9 2/E XU-1 JP stamped blocks as they seem to have been a few of the left overs from other purposes.

There would not be many of the final NP 7000 R blocks left now, I can think of three so far.

Mike I have seen quiet a few of the 173 and 202 QL duel date cast blocks but have never seen one other with the JP prefix than the one i have for my 27/8/73 Bathurst XU1 duel cast 8/H/73 block

Allso i have seen possibly about 10 or more QM blocks none of them duel cast

Well dip me in honey and feed me to the strippers. Learn something new everyday.

Cheers.
