Have you ever tryed to find a SS that has no flairs, no sunroof, original engine that has not been restores or pulled apart, where every thing is right? I have seen a few not for sale but they will not sell and I offered good money, to those owners money is obviously not everything. Cheers Aaron.

I got an original SS with the original engine but i pulled it apart and built it the way i wanted to.To me a torana without flares is like a flat chested Salma Hayek. As for the bodies you seem to know what you're talking about i'll leave it there
cheers Kirk.

Big call to call an A9X hatch the most desirable GMH product. I'd have one but there are a few i'd have first like a HK GTS327, a proper Aussie muscle car if there ever was one!
To be honest, if we are talking a modified car i'd rather a V8 SL hatch than a 6cyl SS. If we are talking authentic resto i'd have the 6cyl SS but put a 308 in it. Only a personal preference though.

I also had Warwick Yellow HK GTS 327 as no 1 a few years back but now my no 1 pref would be a A9X Hatch Ex race car then a road going A9X hatch.
Here are some Hatchback and Monaro production no's i found on the net. I'm not sure how accurate.
Hatchbacks 8576
Norm Darwin...GMH historian reckons..
all models...from plain to GTS
HK 15637
HT 14437
HG 6147
HQ 13872
HJ 5517
HX 2079
HX LE 580 (606 built but the rest lost in a fire)

You are right, I just grabbed my total figures and HQ coupes are 13872.
HJ coupes are 943.
HX coupes 580. I'll check with Norm, im not certain that those lost in the fire in WA aren't in the 580 though.
HJ and HX are the same body.

An A9X hatch is certainly worth having, but I reckon they are only more valuable as there were less made. If only 100 or so GTS327's were made they'd be pulling the same, but there were 10 x that many (1192). Plus they are a proper factory build race car, designed to race as built (as are HT GTS350M and earlier XU1). I'd always put them in 2 x different catagories anyway, as the later stuff were not proper road going race cars but homologation specials. Same but different, but both still high on anyone's wish list!

Lol in ten years you haven't found one for sale, good ones are never advertised,
In my month of looking I have had 5 contenders none of which are on the open market , advertise a wanted advert have a wod of cash ready and look under every rock
We have found our dream and perfect one, details to be shared once in my driveway.
Maybe you haven't had enough cash or are not the buyer sellers are looking for
