As posted on ozrodders

Hi folks
Well always a sad post "if" it turns out to be a fellow rodder but then we're smarter than that.

Early hrs of this morning (was seen) a low life broke into my garage and stole a number of stuff for my hot rod.
Haven't done a full stock take yet but would have to be someone linked to cars as no hand or pwr tools or other stuff was even touched which is more marketable for druggies & seasoned thieves.

I do know the following has gone & all brand new:
Chrome Alt
starter motor
dash insert for '32
full set of gauges - cockpit royale
billet dash switches
Hagan tail lights (slot type) -
polished stainless headlights
polished stainless dealight stands
rectangualr HD chrome indicators
stainless demountable Windscreen wiper

and counting

who does he know building a 32?
has he sold any parts lately...or had visitors?

Everyones building a 32

They are the bellybutton of hotrods... everyone has one... bit like Mustangs

They left some really good stuff and took 'easy' stuff

He always has visitors... he has a pretty open door policy on sharing info and help with fellow rodders

Cops have video and prints... just nothing turned up yet

And to be honest... burglaries aren't very well investigated

  • PLEASE SPREAD THIS AS FAR & WIDE AS YOU CAN. Under the cover of darkness some low scum broke into my garage in the early hours of Friday the 25th October & stole a number of car/hot rod related items.
So far, I know the following items were taken which have a fairly narrow market so to the real car guys any info will be welcomed as you might be next. All items are new.
    - chrome alternator
    - king bee/Deitz style headlights
    - stainless headlight mounts
    - brushed aluminium oval gauge for 5 gauges with a V8 emblem engraved
    - set of VDO Cockpit Royale gauges (white faced)
    - fuel tank sending unit
    - headlight conduits
    - HD billet indicators (rectangular with rounded ends plus mounting brackets)
    - set of billet dash switches
    - slot style taillight housing & lenses
    - rover Viking radiator emblem (approx 75mmx50mm)
    - Stainless detachable windscreen wiper kit
    - Polished Billet alternator mount & adjusting bar/bolts etc.
    - Flaming River Kill Switch (battery isolation - polished aluminium handle)
Other stuff is being discovered as I go through my things.
Some of this stuff is only suitable for my purpose as it has been machined or in some cases specifically made to align to my application. Some has also been microdotted.

To the thieving low life reading this, it's not worth what's coming so do yourself a favour & drop the box & all its contents back to either my or my neighbour's place & you just might get out of this.
By the way, you were seen & picked up on both my neighbour's & my garage surveillance cams 2.50am and thanks for the lovely prints the police have picked up from those little boxes you removed from the tub & left behind.

Alternatively, to anyone being offered these items or becoming aware of someone offering these around I will pay in absolute confidence $1,500 cash reward for the return of all items stolen and a further $500 reward for this dog's name & place of residence.

I know this is an oldish thread Neil, but how did this pan out??...what was the outcome??.

Seems to be an awful lot of this type of thing going on and seems to be on the rise, its sad times for many an Auto Enthusiast!!

Hi Rodders,

These People don't care if they get caught as when in prison, is a holiday to plan the next hit.

The best thing to do, is to make it hard for you to get to your own stuff so it takes as long / longer for them to too. Dave I
