hey guys i have a 308 red motor and i am not too sure about the engine number.
problem 1 it has 1 letter and 7 numbers. i thorught these motors usually have 2 letters and 6 numbers?
problem 2 one of the numbers is just slightly out of line of the rest. were these motors stamped by hand?
problem 3 i called vic roads to get the engine number checked, and they said that its clean and not stolen, but its a special motor? could this be a hdt motor or somthing thats better than a standard 308 motor like jp block 202's ?

whats the number? its possible that the block could have been decked at some stage, so the number would have needed to be restamped.
what is the date code on the block? it should be above the timing cover
