Something doesn't add up. You have 98 over there and from what you say about the builder he should know what he's doing. But then he gives you illogical advice like "10:1 max in NZ". Either he doesn't know as much as he says he does or he's taking the piss.

Anyhow it's your money so it's your call. Doesn't make any sense to ask for advice here though if your just gonna ignore it and follow your "engine builders" lead. Good luck, you're gonna need it.

I'll show him this thread and see what he says, but I think I know what he'll say.

When the engine is finished I'll post the dyno information, then we'll see who's taking the piss  :shoot:

Mate, in all honesty we are only trying to help- geez, we have been for months.

We only want a good outcome for you, honestly. But it has been a little difficult, as you seem to have a fair gap in your knowledge (not being a smart-arse, we all have to start somewhere). the difficulty though, is that when you have asked for advice, over many threads, you often seem to ignore or discount the advice.

I get it, its the internet, and you do not know us from a bar of salt (we could be talking complete sheep shyte). But nonetheless, keep an open mind, and try to learn as much as you can about engines, as so you can hold a serious, informed conversation with the engine builder.

The single most best piece of information you have received was from OldJohnno, who advised you in one of your threads that you could copy a known combination. This is still the best advice for you IMO. Otherwise you are just entrusting someone with your hard earned cash who may be experimenting on the job. A known combo will get you the best results, for the cheapest money and the less stress.

Actually the injected 3300 was large chamber though it did have some subtle changes to the ports and seats. AFAIK only the 2850 got the little chamber.

I stand corrected.

Thank you Mr GTR. I fully understand, and I respect the way you put it.

As I have said before I HAVE learnt alot from this site and oldjohno's page, and continue to do so,  its all very good.

However you must understand that I can't go into a very well know engine builder and tell him how he should be building my engine. Im a welder, its like me doing a welding job for somebody who knows nothing about welding and them telling me how to go about it.

This ain't no backyard mechanic, and I know if somebodies taking the piss. I will continue to learn all I can about these engines, closely observe the work carried out on my engine, and ask the builder appropriate questions when the time arrises.

Thanks
