I am confused that the same spring is listed for SLR5000/A9X (original post). With L34/A9X springs in an SLR5000 front end the car will sit very high (due to differences in stub axles).

Originaly I had fitted HQ brakes but I wanted to upgrade.
I have still got the old old brakes. I will compare to see if they are HQ stubs.
I just had a look on the hopper stopper web site and I could not find what stub axle they use.

Sorry guys, the kit did not include stubs.
Just had a look now at my torrie and i have fitted the LX stubs and not the HQ.
These brakes i had fitted like 3 years ago, but from memory the guys might have recommended to fit the LX stubs instead.
I have tried to call hopper stopper this morning but i think they are on holidays, no answer.

first step has to be get under the front wishbone with a torch and look up to confirm the spring is sitting in its holder

Then I would try the KHFL14's. I think you have fitted the wrong springs that are for the A9X stubs.

Is it worth fitting the HQ stubs and see what happens

You then should also run the harrop A9X steering arms and your brake caliper brakets to suit the hoppers brakes will be wrong so your calipers won't go on.

The springs are only worth $130, just bought a set, i would buy them. Easier than doing the HQ stub swap over and cheaper too.

I don't have a9x arms. If I require a9x for the hq stubs then its not worth doing it.
The KHFL 14 springs sit higher then the 15's according to king spring supplier that I rang today.
The front springs, can they go on any way? If not which way are they suppose to sit?

I can't speak for whether or not the 14's will make it higher than the 15's., All I can say is that they lower the car about 30mm from standard. I have fitted several pairs over the years and they always give the preferable ride height in my eyes. If you have 15's fitted with standard torana (non A9X) geometry, then the 15's will make the car sit too high in my opinion.
Yes you can put the front springs in upside down. The fat coil section end must be placed at the bottom into the groove in the lower arm. The flat part of the spring will locate in the top of the suspension tower. Worth a try if you ask me mate! I have a brand new set of 14's here I would sell you but getting them to Sydney would make it dearer than buying a set off ebag!

I'm putting in new shocks and from the sounds of it my springs had been fitted upside down even though they were sitting in flush top and bottom.
I will fit the new shocks and reposition the springs the right way and see how I go.
If I'm still not happy with the height then I will buy the 14's.
