Heya Keith. How long is a piece of string? Nobody really knows. Also which model, LH, LX or L34, and would you include the 4 door A9X's?

If we transfer HG350's info to an Access Database we could work it out, but until then, nobody knows.

Hi, sorry to jump in but while you are at it is it possible to work out what the build number of a particular car is.
I have a LX coupe built on the 12th feb 76. Just figure not to many would of been produced before it? probably lots, but you never know.
thanks

The early SS hatchbacks were built Sept 1975. There are few still around built Dec 76 that i have seen. If you have an early car you could tell how many LX's were made before yours but not model type. Just need the chassis number. I think you will find that the first 4 doors weren't made till around feb 76 though.

I carn't verify the source. But carn't see why it would be incorrect. I wouldn't say it was a lot. Compared to other previously posted info for LC/LJ GTR XU1 it looks like this.
LC GTR XU1 1379
LJ GTR XU1 2179
LH SLR 5000 1773

Thanks for that info.
the chassis no is 1100 and something, would have to go check the exact number.
I thought holden started at number 1 for the first car and continued on regardless of model, eg kingswood etc.
figure since the release date was feb 76 it may be an early built coupe.
but thinking about it you have to have a lot built before you release it wouldn't you?

I had a guy saying he had a LH coupe? I thought he was an idiot.
could this just be a late 75 build car?
or is there such a thing?

Your LX would have been the 1100th LX built. Chassis will start with ALX. The PSN is sequential and rolls on regardless of model. First hatchback/s built Sept 75 prior to the offical LX release date March 76. No LH hatch as far as i have ever seen. I can however confirm that there are plenty of folk that over the years have advertised them.

There are rumours of an LH Hatch around. If it is the real deal, the rear quarter window looks weird when compared to the LX. That is from the photo's of the prototype anyways. Last I heard the guy was doing it up to A9X spec, go figure. If it existed, it would be the prototype for the LX.

My feelings are it's an LX Hatch with square headlights. Why you would do that, I have NFI.

I still have the tags for our LX 4.2 SLR 4 door. Built feb 78. I have also seen a LX hatch [tagged] which were on a UC hatch. Must have been one of the first.
