It was my first sprint in the green LJ and also first time around sandown, so I was stoked get the chance to drive it flat out and come away with no damage for the day.
Got to battle with two other LJs in the final session I went in, no rubbing involved of course . It was pretty much me chasing a yellow LJ and an awesome orange GT capri and another yellow LJ behind chasing me. I learned from this that with their combination of driving abilities( ) and car setup that mine is not quite up to their pace yet. Having said that, they were only about a second quicker per lap. Hopefully when I get the rear swaybar off and put a front on it will equal 1 second or more
Anyways, here are the piccys
Yellow LJ in front of me
Me with other Yellow LJ chasing me
That skyline was super quick, it was only 5 seconds off V8 Supercar times.
BTW, this was a combined sprint from the Holden Sporting Club of Victoria and the Ford Four Car Club, and I must say the day was run very superbly in that it was well organised (over 95 cars for the day) and very friendly atmosphere in general. So congratulations to all involved there.
Also I'd highly recommend the HSCC to anyone looking to do some motorsport as they have been very friendly and helpful ever since I joined a couple of months ago. They are always happy to welcome new members there of all ages and gender. Heres a free plug for them http://www.holdenclub.com

I've had my car around Sandown before, and been passenger in a proper circuit car there too - I can totally see the addiction to the sport. Something I would love to get into more one day.....
What other plans do you have for the little green monster now?

Its already got -2.2 on the front matey. I'll get the rear sorted first, then we may play with more camber later. Its got the longer bolts ready for more shims and lowered upper control arms as well But yeah, i can see the camber been increased later onYou need about 2 degrees more NEG on the front Shevy.

The back straight up the top just before the left hander is quite hairy when you go there for the 1st few times as it is quite bumpy, but when ya get used to it its fairly easy to attack it with abit of speed. Although having said that my car was probably approaching there at half the speed of yours howard
LXCHEV: sure am addicted mate, the credit card has copped it sweetly, lol. But as ya said its awesome fun. I've got some pretty sweet incar footage as well, would love to somehow show it to all here.
J&S: Bummer that you weren't allowed in the pits, but yeah if you ever are around a sprint and I'm there come up and say g'day . One of the flaggies from the day was telling me that the skyline was so well setup that it never went off the racing line by and inch, always hit the apex perfectly and powered out perfectly each time.
Cheers all

-5 1/2, thats alot, but after seeing how much neg camber those biante guys run, thats not so unbelievable.
groupnxu1: I take it you race? I'd love to hear more if you do mate, ie where, state series? biante even? cheers
Best I could get for the day was a 1:35.2, so after looking at the state group Ns, I'm about 7secs off them, lol. Although, my car would not be capable of those times anyway. In kind of would be down on HP to them, and also the susp whilst alright aint anything special... just pedders all round. Konis and maybe King Springs in the future if money ever allows, lol.
Anyways heres a link to the results...
