i read somewhere on the site that n13 sss pulsar seats fit straight onto lc torana rails is this true, if so does anyone have pics. I would lyk to change the seats in my lc any ideas or pics of other seats would be helpful, it would b a bonus if it fits the standard rails :D

Pretty much any seats can be made to fit in the LC/LJ's... Only main concern would be that if you have a 2door then the seats would need to flip forward for rear seat access.

Brackets can be welded up to 'move' the mounting points from the original locations on the runners to further outside of them etc
Some people use a flat plate of steel bolted straight onto the runners and redrill the new seat's mounting holes into that...

Check the legalities in your state reguarding seats to be on the safe side.

yeah i understand that u can make any seat fit its only for a four door, but as soon as you start moding the rails or moving them u need an engineer to sign it off. i was goin to jus swap the seats to lj ones but wen i read about the sss seats i thought that wud be gud cause it sed they bolted straight to the torana rails, and they are a sports wraparound style seat.

RS2000(scheel) seats look & feel nice, also the right size for an early girl. You cant fit vr senator or vt coulsen seats in as they practically touch each other & the roof as I had a set of each & wanted to see what they looked like in there during my commodore days.
How about trying swift seats?

Thought i would resurrect an old thread on sports seats in an LJ rather than starting a new one.

I am interested in seeing pics or a how-to on putting Sports Seats into an LJ (2 or 4 door either way). When i say sports seats i mean - SAAS, Pulsar SSS (straight bolt up??), import seats (skyline, Evo, etc). Or anyther suggestions for seats in an LJ - re-trim/reboulster originals, etc.

Any help or info is appriciated.

Cheers,
Mick

Mick,

Have a look at WRX seats... Oddly enough that's what ive got in the HQ and i reckon they look good. Theyre comfortable and supportive, the rails were the same width as the HQ rails, so they pretty well bolted straight in, and theyre out of a "small" car so they may fit into an LC/LJ without too much in the way of headaches size wise.

They also flip forward and the hinge, and there are coupe WRXs that *MIGHT* have the rails that flip AND slide forward for rear seat access into the back of a 2 door torry.

More food for thought!
