be carefull not to go to big on the pipes or you will loose torque 1 5/8 is perfect for 350 cubes and 1 3/4 is good for 400 cubes,i know a bloke with a stout 350 in a lx torana ran 11.64 with twin 2 1/2 then changed to twin 3 inch dynod car again jetted it to suit the change never got under 11.86 since, bigger is not always better?

The car already had a twin mandrel 3' the whole way through however i already had another set of near new pipes that were already made to suit the DiFillippo's thats why we changed them......in my past experience the worked 308's i have owned have all run allot better with the 4 into 1 pipes, in most cases the exhausts i have run on my 308's have also been larger then the pipes i have used on my 350's, that siad the 308's always had allot more work done to them as well.......so it is a hard call.

Anyway will see how we go and will know soon enough if there is any sort of improvment :D if not i will always have to old exhaust to go back to :fool:

If you've seen a White VH with number plates FEAR getting around down the drags that's what twin 3" sound like on a 355. IMO it's too loud we were on the Ace Ford cruise and you could hear the car from miles away, that's when we were sitting in another 11sec 355.

Prob find twin 3" are a bit too big for a 308, unless you are going to turn it a fair bit harder, up around the 8200-8600 mark.

Let us know how it goes though, I'll be interested to see it run. :)

Cheers,

-Dave.

heheh yeh i know Freds car "Fear" pretty well :D it all depends on what you like i guess.

But on that note, we will NEVER know what kind of improvement i would have gotten out of the car as it has been SOLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will jump on here a bit later and give you all the run down, but not to worry to much as it has only been sold as a roller :spoton:

More to come soon......................

I mean my VH was sold as a roller  i have been on the look out for a torrie for some time now and have had a buyer for the VH for a while but havent wanted to sell it cause the VH has been running so well and i havent been able to find a torrie i was happy with :tease: ........but just when i had put the idea on the back burner i stumbled across one that is exactly what i want!

Just to give you an overview it is an LH/LX 4 door, i have bought it as a roller, it used to have a 308 in it and it requires a very small amount of work for me to get it finished off, when its completed it should hopefully look the goods and with a bit of luck will also have the go to match the show (yes it is coppin the freshly rebuilt 308 out of the VH with a few additional bits) .......i havent picked it up yet but will start a new thread as soon as it is in my possession Mwhahahahahah back in the torrie club! so excited! :clappin:

cheers

I'm a little bit sad to hear that the VH is no more, but I've also been hanging around long enough to guess that you wouldn't pull the plug unless you had come across something very nice. That drive train in a Torrie with mini tubs (just fishing) will be a wild ride!

Pics would be great.

Cheers,
