Hey people, I havn't been around much as been dam busy, changed jobs and doing heaps but finally getting it under control again.

Here is my Holden/Ford Alternative.

I am so impressed with this car that I had to share and cheaper than I can buy a Ford or Holden which put them out of my price range,

Top of range Nissan Luxury Sports

Called Infiniti in other Countries but this is a Japanese Import - some things like the sat-nav and TV doesn't work but i can live with that.

Proximity Key, only works within 1metre

3.5Litre V6 206kW - the 4,5litre v8 is available and quicker.

0-60 mph in 6.7 seconds and 0-100 14.7

Speed limited to 155mph (250km/h)

5-speed Auto with sport shift (blips the throttle on downshift)

Full sports suspension. hangs on pretty well and feels very nice and positive

Full electric seats, mirrors, steering lifts/seat slides back on entry/exit from car. 6 CD stacker/MP3, Video/DVD and heaps of features on the on board computer

Black Half leather trim which is the one I wanted

Vehicle Dynamic Control (pain in arse) but I turn it of and it turns it into a drifter!

Big Brakes and these things really haul up!

Weight ratio is 53%47% and is called Front/Midships or FM Platform which Skyline/Infiniti/Fuga use

And it even comes with a large boot!

Choice bro.

Wonder if they'll change our Grey Import laws here now that Holden, Ford and Toyota have abandoned ship.

Good point bro -

"Nissan announced the return of front-wheel drive to the Infiniti lineup on August 30, 2011 with the release of the Infiniti JX.[14] It will join Toyota's Lexus brand in terms of blending front-wheel drive and rear-wheel drive vehicles again; since its inception in 1990 Lexus has had front-wheel drive platforms underpinning entry-level vehicles like the Lexus ES and Lexus RX."

Rear wheel Drive, LSD, it's a 350z running gear and available as a 450GT V8 as well :)

As I hinted it will drift on command if I turn off VDC and leaves 11's in a straight road

I decided on the 350GT as they were perky enough and I have my modded 304 SS for V8 Fun which only has 165kW RWHP at present but that will change very shortly.

Oh I forgot to mention it also comes in 4WD as well if required

Now that would make a great track car I reckon, 4WD V8 4.5litre Quad cam 32Valve and then throw a supercharger on it some guys are getting 700-800hp in these as their street car.

Any luck that's where it's heading, opening up the importation laws will give you some cheap quality world class vehicles. But you might drive some of the prices up here in NZ as we will be buying from the same markets.

It's nice to dream but I can't see it happening unfortunately. Politicians here are just butt crack cleaners and knob polishers for the big end of town.

If they do what they're told and don't create any waves they get a nice cushy management or public liaison position with some multinational corporate pirate's Aussie branch office to top up their very generous government pension allowance, and I really can't see the big automotive manufacturers giving any ground on their new car sales even when all their product is imported.
