So if you pressed one up as a black steel one as per original you couldnt tell the difference because they wouldnt have a part number correct

Correct, if it was a faithful copy.

Repro XU1 front spoilers have been around now for 25 years or more and I suspect copies have been made from copies and throw in the old 'close enough is good enough'.

The two side ones are .

Hi Mark

Would it be possible for you to measure the sheet metal thickness with a micrometer or vernier? Prefer metric but imperial will do.

Also does the face of your spoiler measure 90mm high x 585mm wide.

A pic of the lower front part of one of the corners as well as the notch in the top or bottom centre of the spoiler would be great if you don't mind.

Cheers

Dave.

Dave.

I just measured mine again looking at the face of the air dam its across the top its 570mm and the same across down the bottom too.
But at the back of the slotted holes from edge to edge its 600mm.i have my original on the table and the one on the car is the same one messurments of my origial one.
And on another note my spolier with original factory height with 70 series tyres fitted the spoiler clears the gutter if nosed in and if you have the rare spares one fitted it gets taken out by the gutter, there too tall in height.

Regards John.

Crikie John,

Now we have a new point to clear up, your one is now slightly smaller, Dammit, by 5 mm,

and the back flaps are narrower too.

Well, the way I see it is we get some more XU1 Dam's in like yours John. Dave I

Hi John

How tall is too tall?

I have a Rare Spares spoiler, it measures 86mm high x 575mm long (across the face) x 1.64mm thickness (incl gloss 2 pack paint).

Cheers

Dave.

The one I have here is also 570mm across the front and it's 88mm top to bottom. Centre to centre on the back holes measure 615mm, all 6 of the holes are slotted.

as long as the Gauge is the same, and the front size is within 5mm,

the back flaps can bend from manufacture, I don't see them being that far out,

except the slotted holes at the front 4, or does that matter. Dave I

Beside the weight, the bottom corners seems to be the main difference.

Good Man Mark,

so we need to investigate the metal shapes now, I see the Rares Spares has the same shape as yours on the side, but the folds could be different. Dave I
