Hmmm this sounds interesting.. If I am happy with the wait what do you charge?? And what do u reckon postage to Townsville Qld would be? 
I dont know what I want on my doors though..
I may even have a go myself first when I have some spare time

would a thin ply be better than MDF, just worried about the MDF if it gets wet?

Depends how thin? I use 3mm MDF for door trims so if you can get 3mm ply then go for it. Then again marine ply would be even better or just seal the back of the door trim, real old cars used to cover the back of the door trims to for this reason.
The plastic that is on the doors under the trims is there to protect the back of the trims anyway.

How will they get wet, do you not run the protective plastic sheet between them and the door or do you hose your interior out regularly?would a thin ply be better than MDF, just worried about the MDF if it gets wet?

So I have been kicking ideas around... I went with the Black velvet stuff... To break it up I added 2 pink stripes... I just want to know if anyone has any ideas on how to glue them on 
Stuffs me... Ignore the mess... The pink stuff is Pink ribbon just pined on atm n not straight i don think, If i use glue it will soak thru the ribbon... I cant use spray on contact stuff that I have been using to stick the black stuff on cause it has to be sprayed onto both surfaces... Hmmmm And I cant sew it on as The black stuff is already glued on lol....

You're making it hard for yourself 
An industrial sewing machine would sew it on through the door card, but if it is only ribbon it will probably bunch it up. The only thing I could suggest at this stage is the iron on stuff you should be able to get from a craft store, like double sided tape but heat activated. I doubt it would last long though.
Realistically, for a long lasting job, rip the material off and sew the ribbons in.
Another consideration, is the car out in the sun much? If so is the ribbon UV treated? If it's not treated it will turn white eventually.
The trims look good though, nice simple designs are often the best.

Go find yourself some pink material rather then ribbon, would make it easier, also agree with the stitch it to the material comment.

Went to some embroidery places today for some quotes... went to about 4 differnt places each recommending the next, but no one says they can do it..... The door is too long which means they would have to embroid in sections meaning that the line could turn out Not straight.... Hmmmm

If you pull the material back off the doors then it would be easy enough to do yourself, maybe its time to see a trimmer? Personally, if it was me, i would be doing pink "sections" in the black, rather then sewing it over the top.
But im a woose, i went all vinyl and had it done! how good are you/your mum at sewing?
i know mine is a f*cking genius when it comes to sewing crap up.

Another idea,
Get some strips of MDF or stiff cardboard and some "split" clips.
Fit the clips to the strips and trim the strips in pink, drillholes in the door trims and push through to attach.
You get your pink stripes and 3D to boot.

Does anyone replicate the original door trims? with the chrome strip etc? My Kingswood is going to need some new door trims and i don't want just plain flat vinyl.

I think places like eastern autos and other motor trimmers do original door trims for other models (eg monaros and things)
But as for kingswood im not 100% sure.
Why not get a pattern stitched into the door trim.

nah rares got them from a bloke in sydney, rares dont do trims any more i check about 2 weeks ago.
also eastern auto had shut down or moved location i had heard gary was sick a while ago so maybe something had happend to him ? dopnt know i cant get in contact with them anymore.

Door trim (NOT CARDS) backing boards I'm a trimmer & I don't make my boards & why would I when I can get new ones that are laser cut for $25 each add an $3 for non trade from Better Auto Rubber.
