Ahh OK thanx Dave, had a look this mornin in the light & saw no flap orNo XU1 tanks had a flap or baffle to stop fuel going back up the filler neck under acceleration.
evidence of flappage.
Found my leak problem tho, flat seal surface on filler tube needs slight
work & the slack locking tangs, broken cork & many layers of gasket
paper on the cap wouldnt help.
