It was a decently long flat stretch & very wide....we would cross it coming from sydney to woy woy late at night or early am hours.

Coast down the hill before bride or slow way down then put the boot in.At those speeds you crossed rather quickly lol.

My lc gtr back then was triple webbered six usually revved out past 7k in 4th thanks to the short 3.9 gears, valve bounced it once or twice crossing it.

Cousin had modded 360 vh charger you gradually wound it out or went too quick she wandered about above 160 ..depends how daring you were as it still had plenty more to go.

Best ones were the daily slr's I had we simply didn't back off coming down the hill or crossing the bridge..with tall gears & good suspension they did it too easily.

Still got passed like nothing by mates on bikes but catch em' again at weigh bridge when cops pulled everyone over for rbt's & car inspections.

Scarier was seeing trucks flying through there in convoys before days of speed limiters as a kid.

sorry to be off topic.........................but re the above...still remember those nuts driving the overnight newspaper deliveries up from Sydney to Newcastle, in those Manhood Transport flat top trucks ( about 3 tonne trucks??)...those guys
must have known all the windy bits (pre F3/M1 ) so well, as they drove them every night. The had those V8 petrol? Dodge
trucks and it was good sport keeping up in the old GTR.

Yeah, I've wound out a few free-breathing (Weber, 4 bbl) Chargers WFO too, the old gear shift gets a real rattle on in the BW 4-speed,

but with the front down low on the torsion bars, & a bit of down rake on 'em  they'll happily  go off the clock top-end wise,

& at night you'd  see the sparks flying out when you scraped over bumps & on the over-run when you'd got the exhaust red hot

long enough 'til  the carpets started cooking.. Those were the days..

I have a M-Benz now that does it, but with zero drama, hardly feels fast at all, no wind noise, & not even when you have to stomp on the brakes..

What Diff Ratio are you using Jason,

you can get that Speed without a Turbo using a 3.08 Diff Mate.

well i am having a guess,trimatic,13 inch wheels 5500rpm turbo 14psi=145mph.

5400 rpm x 3.08 in Top

What i am a bit worried is going down conrod straight in a lj torana with a big top end speed going over the humps and getting airborn with the either the front or the whole 4 wheels in the air.lj toranas are very light cars.
