Hey guys I have come across a LC shell and was thinking about turning it into a little track car, now I have a 355 and a tko600 box that would be prime for the job but I'm not sure if the car car is going to like that much weight in it and if a dirty old commodore will be more suited

Mainly to do sprint racing nothing to full on

Just after some peoples opinions and if anyone knows of someone doing the same id love to get in contact and have a chat

Being 4 door doesn't make much difference, they are a bit more flexible but you can fix that with some steel tubing and/or a chassis kit I imagine.

It will be a bit of an arrow with the big donk up front, but it'll be fun for sure  :spoton:

Harry Firth thought a V8 would go alright in a little Torana and he knew a thing or two about making cars go fast.

I think sports sedans may be the only option there. Correct of I'm wrong, but believe ip needs remain same number of cylinders as released with that model.

If it were me? I'd put what you have into a Commodore shell.

Reckon a Commodore might be a better fit for that engine?
As datpsi mentioned above, you might end up in Sports Sedan type class at the track if you go the Torana route...and there are
typically some seriously fast cars in that class.
Not to say the Commodore might end up in S.S. anyway....depending on what you plan to do.

I guess in Supersprint type events where there is you and 1 other car....I think its pretty well run what you brung.

Good luck, sounds interesting either way.

I think he's talking club sprints isn't he?

More bolt on bits available for Commodore too eg. brakes and suspension without spending a fortune.
