Is this a reprint of the magazine about Harry that came out a few years ago?

Got my copy yesterday and thanks Al for the heads-up  :spoton:

To those few who criticised Harry about having to pay for his signature on their books/shirts/glove boxes etc

That opportunity has gone to get one from a legend of motor sport as great as Harry

Yeah, that's the one I was referring to, is the current one a reprint of that or something new. The magazine pictured made for very interesting reading.

Okay looking back through the thread I see the new magazine is about harry and holden, but the first is harry and Brock.
I thought I'd ask since I hate the way magazine companies rehash old articles that they've done before with a new cover, then when you get home and go through it you've seen it all before. It's even worse when they put them in plastic so you can't flick through them at the newsagents.

No worries Barry

Sad the 'H' has gone to the Big Racetrack in the Sky, we all miss out on his Autograph now, I love the things he Autographed for me, and his Phone Call and Letter.

I don't think many people know that Harry actually wrote 3 pages of this book when he was in Hospice and his sad end came while he was there.

I have a soft spot for the ol' bugga and one funny thing he did for me was when I sent down 3 glove-boxes for him to sign and I put a strip of masking tape with "Harry Firth HDT 1969 - 77" on the place where I would have liked him to sign just that.

I did have an unsigned glove box lid and I put the piece of masking tape in the far right top corner where I wanted him to sign and this is how it came back

Harrys-Glove-box-signature.jpg

That one won't be signed by anyone else :spoton:

AND when I was chatting to him at the Muscle Car Masters and he asked me what Torana I was driving and I said an SS, he replied

"Do you know what SS means?"

Now, I thought I would let the legend tell me so I said "no"

Harry said "It's short for the German words Schuby Staffel"

So who am I to argue with a legend what SS meant  :dontknow:

So he wrote it on my cap and signed it  :spoton: AND the wry smile on his face was mint

Harrys-signature-on-cap-2.jpg

Harry's eye sight was not the best and when I asked him to sign a cap Peter had signed this was the result

Harrys-signature-on-my-cap.jpg

Peter's signature was a bit dull so I got 2 signatures from people that were close together  :spoton:

Harry was supposed to be writing or have written his memoirs to be published after he died, hopefully those actually exit. Supposedly it had the true stories about Bathurst 1967-1969 and also 1976 about lap miscounting etc plus all the little cheats he put into the 1969 cars and the XU1's. Hopefully they were written many years earlier and see the light of day.

I thought I saw that photo bottom left of the Brock and I magazine before, it was in a MAN magazine that I bought for the story on Brock, Bond and Harry Firth   ;)   :spoton:

Brock-Bond-Firth-1.jpg

Sorry about the blanking out bit but I'm sure photobucket would not allow it without the black-out

So this is the photo with that story and Harry had signed for me and I'm not quite sure on what Harry thought of me having THAT magazine

I heard Harry had his Memoirs ready to be done after his death, so rumors go, and I heard that due to info that was sent to him, he was re-doing some of it, so if True we will have to see if a Book comes out etc.

^^ I remember finding those magazines in the cab of my dads car carrier under the seat while cleaning it out. I was a little shocked at first being a red blooded 12 year old I just had to study them  more closely. Then dad would say" what took you so long" ?  I said " the cab was more dirty than I thought"  :innocent:
