5 speed clutch throw out lever

I'm running a 5 speed VH commodore gear box in my LJ,its been pretty good but ive run into a bit of an issue,the throw out lever is bent and I'm running out of clutch.
I have been told that there may be a cast lever available to suit the cable pull type clutch any one got any ideas,had thought about pulling out the lever straightening it out and welding a brace in behind it..................or is that not as good as it sounds
