Ok saw about 50-100 XU1's today at Toranama and didn't find any shrouds with 2823866 on them.

I did manage to find 2 XU1's that were unrestored and they had shrouds that were blank and all had the matching date stamp in the top tank. There were a heap (70% ish) of XU1's with varying part numbers on the shroud that were not Torana. One had 2824058 which is a 2250 and 2850 eng heavy duty LJ radiator. There was probably around 10 restored XU1's with blank shrouds and stamped tanks.

Cheers.

Just to add, note the Oil cap and the placement of the sticker.....

Try again

Anthony, I'm finding it hard to positively differentiate if there is or is not any numbers stamped into the fan guard. Zooming in on the pic doesn't help either]

It's blank. A look at the original in a magazine shows clearly.

Well a lot has progressed since I have been away, one question I have and I'll use my car as an example.

If my radiator is a replacement then why dose it have a D3 top tank???? Being a 7/73 you would think that it would have a later code on it and not one that fits right for the car????

I also still have the original core that the tanks came off so I'll be having a look.

I have a heap of XU1 engine bay pics that I'll be going through shortly.

cheers

So does this apply to all of them or just XU-1's? My 4/72 LJ S radiator has no number on the shroud and a C2 date code on the tank.
