Well if you have met me you know. How I got my nick name which Iv'e had for 25 years goes like this, do you know the story of Robin Hood and his band of merry men? one of them is called Little John and he is huge so using the opposite rule Little John to Big Jack because Jack is another name for John.

Hope that makes sence.

Cheers.

Its a numberplate off a HD I owned in the early 90s.

People assume its Wide Open Throttle 179, but its not.

The HD had a 383 Chev in it, and I thought it was clever, asking where the 179 had gone.

It was a fun street(ish) car, a real sleeper to look at from 30 feet, despite having the rear doors pop riveted on, plastic windows and a single race seat.

It went 10.86, which was considered pretty quick then.

Im happy for it to be Wide Open Throttle 179 these days, though, as I have more of a thing for red 6s now than I used to have.

Hi all

Well Bazza only means one thing. I'm kind of sorry I use that name on the forums because my 'still at home' son goes by the same nickname. When forum members call and ask for Bazza - we have to ask "Is that Bazza Major or Bazza Minor?"

Cheers

Walpolla is a slight spelling variation (deliberately) on a place name that I have an affinity with, and have been camping there for the past 30 odd years. I use it for all my online activities.

Original name was Gonedeaf. Bought my Torana from Colac and drove it home about 150kms with a leaking exhaust, car sounded like a dragster and the dirty looks from cars through Geelong was priceless.

Hated the name in the end seeing my only brother is deaf so I changed it.

Just a nickname, short for Harry Potter, nothing to do with smoking anything.

I used to have a pair of glasses that made me look a bit like the wizard in the first couple of movies.

Later it became my business name which is a handyman service so 'sibhs'

Mine seems obvious to me atleast, my initials and I have a Lj Torana.

When I signed up I had no ideas for a user name and this was just a logical choice at the time.

WA1TNC (wait & see) were the plates on my old ute, was a standard looking VY SS ute with Harrop blower on it, it went under the radar all the time. Now that engine is in my LH Torana... I was going to try keep it stock looking with the ls1 & blower all under the bonnet as well. So far so good.

Good thread.  Have wondered what several members user names stand for.  Mine was because I had a Mandarin 5000 when I joined.  Thought about changing with the different cars over the years but always struggle with members when they  change theirs so have left mine as is. I should be GreenSpack now :-)
