I like how his Monaro still had the rego plates on

I like how his Monaro still had the rego plates on

Most of them did back in those days and they were driven to the track from Melbourne to "run them in"

 

You could buy the cars from the showroom on the Monday after Bathurst which were basically the same as the raced models on the Sunday

 

Can't do it now eh  :sad:

Pretty sure the rules for Bathurst up to and including 1971 required the cars to have at least a rear number plate fixed and displayed. (Bathurst regulations up to and including 1971 also required fitment of the factory exhaust system; no side exiting pipes allowed there until 1972).

Those old V8s sound glorious coming across the top of the mountain.

 

 

I like the tyre changes too lol.
