hey, just thought I'd say well done on your efforts thus far! Something about a car on a rotisserie always seems to give me goosebumps! I'm enjoying watching your progress as your car has some similarities to mine. Im fairly certain it's the same colour as mine originally was (though mine had a white roof). Mine also was my daily driver for my last year of school and first year of uni before I began pulling it all apart! Then it sat for a long time before I did anything more to it. More recently I've sent it to a workshop to give it the full treatment. Mine had a very clean body to start with and I was very reluctant to give it the chop for flares. It was a big decision but at the end of the day I want the car I've been dreaming of since I was 15 years old so I just went with it. Whatever path your project leads you down just make sure you're happy with what you are driving at the end of it 😃 I look forward to seeing how it turns out.

Thanks for your kind words Mark. I agree that there's definently something about seeing a Torana on a rotisserie, they just look great from all angles.

Glad to hear your also building an LH, would love to see some pics :)

Installed the first boot patch, decided to do the lower inside portion seperate as will be easier to get the shape right and plug weld.

Just needs a little bit more work and a tidy up

Thanks Daz, I'm happy with how the repair is going, when I finish this side it's same deal with the other side, then probably onto the spare wheel well.

Just need to find that thing they call "time" to finish it, I know I left it here somewhere, where the bloody hell is it :)

Am I seeing extra factory holes? Did she have a towbar on her at one stage?

Yes, towbar came fitted. Towed a mates ski boat down to Bowhill a couple of times, great fun.

More holes on the todo list :)

Hey Covert,

your car, your passion, do what you want and enjoy the challenge!

As for my car, nothing wild or hairy as you don't see to many stock standard SLR's being displayed.

It seems to me if they had used proper sealant at the Factory when the built our Torana's, we wouldn't have all these issue's with rusted out rear quarters, boot wells, rear window apertures etc..... oh and some proper sealant on the top of the bonnet hinge bracket...........but then we'd have nothing to restore and the resto panel shops would have more time to fords :spoton:

Thanks mouse, seems that anywhere water can collect is now a hole in my car lol.

Haven't made a lot of progress lately Aaron as it's been too bloody cold, welded in a couple more patches and cut out some more rust. Now the weather is improving I plan to spend more time out there. Got a few more smaller holes in the boot to fix and then it's onto the spare wheel well.

I recon you see way more stock, as the price out there for them is higher on the stock ones! What you are seeing is the SL clones done up as SLR's.

Started working on my spare wheel well on the weekend.

As you can see the original is rooted. I might keep it to drain my spaghetti with :)

So out it came

Got a hold of a rares replacement

Just needs a bit of work to fit

Some trimming

Some more trimming

Partially tacked in so I can finish the trimming to fit

Once ive got it right and welded in, ill probably put a drain hole like the original

Finished off my spare wheel well and other rust holes in the boot floor :spoton:  I'm happy with the result, thinking of KBSing the inside of the boot once i finish all associated repairs

Started work on the rear lower quarters. passenger side is the worst of the two so i thought i would start there

Rare spares repair panel fits well

cancer has gone through to the under panel, so will need to repair this first before i repair the outer
