Betta hasn't changed hands as Larry is still the owner. I have had 2 dealings with them. In the early days they had a girl (Sam I think her name was) who was very car knowledgeable. This was when I had my good experience. Spent quite a bit of money. This girl left and another girl started, maybe 2 years ago. Service went down hill. I tried to buy some parts over the phone and sending emails, got the right royal f*ck around by this new incompetent girl, and eventually cancelled my order. Side note, my Monaro front door rubbers from Betta won't seal correctly at the top, water pisses in. After reading this thread, I will now look at Rares rubbers. Trouble is Larry from Betta is too busy travelling to all the major car shows trying to flog his products. Maybe he should just devote some more time to make quality products. As Les above said, after customer feedback, they will withdraw an item and look into it further.

I found confronting Larry when he appears the next year flogging his wares with a list of problems just when he has a group of people at his stall is effective.

The problem with his business plan is he always comes back to the same spot....sometimes people don't magically move away.

Lol. A shit reputation follows you like a bad smell.
New jocks can't hide that shit.

In other news, as I've stated before, my betta kit fitted my lx taxi perfectly. Doors are a little hard to shut but nothing that bothers me TBH.

Anyway, seems my kit was a miracle

I have a better kit fitted to our lx hatch, had no issues at all with it, no leaks anywhere and doors shut well. I am also fitting one of their kits now to my lc coupe and havent had a drama with it except for the door seals requiring a bit of rubber magic to be sprayed on them and left to sit for a couple of weeks. I wouldnt hesitate to use them again on my next build at all.

I also used Betta rubbers and found the fit was fine and they were very easy to install. Although I agree the doors are a but hard to shut. Is the magic rubber a softening product?

I also wonder why we cant name and shame others, as I had a whole thread deleted even though I was blatantly ripped off by Gremlin performance when I paid for a rear spoiler and the only thing that arrived was abusive messages and threats. Unbelievable! Even the guy from consumer affairs was lost for words after he called him! But as a tick to rare spares, I would also like to add that Les sent me an excellent rear spoiler free of charge which he didnt want me to advertise as he just doesnt like seeing people get ripped off. Extremely good of him! And if I hadnt already bought the kit I would have gone with rares just because of that! (But ive bought plenty of other bits since...)

There is a name and shame thread on a US based forum about a certain aftermarket performance Porcshe retailer that has been going for several years now.

I recently used a better auto rubber front and rear screen seal on my lc torana and the rear seal fitted fine however the front screen seal is a bit naf around the top corners. It looks exactly like the photo that Mr LC posted where its buldging up and not sitting flat. If only I had read this post sooner!

I also bought their chrome locking strips and they are not wide enough to spread the seal out properly. They are truly terrible. Southwest auto glass who installed my screen checked with his supplier and the stuff he fitted to another lj was nearly 3mm wider so he's ordering some to replace the dodgy better auto rubber stuff. I'm hoping that it will help sort out the front screen seal but if not I'll have to replace it in the near future because it bugs me.

May as well order your Rares front windscreen seal as the correct size Mylar insert will do nothing to make the rubber seal sit any better.

All the seals I've bought from Kingswoods recently have been sweet. Rares door rubbers and boot rubber were good too.
