Find a genuine A9X at the wreckers and fit the stubs and steering arms. (yeh right!) This will need 14 in wheels in HQ pattern

it reads allright to me as he was refering to l34,then a9x in the next sentence. the chapter is titled l34/a9x afterall so lets not be too hard on the guy.

Not that I am aware of. They are the identical part to the HX 1 tonner according to the numbers guys.

"L34/A9X cars use HQ style vented brakes and 14 inch HQ GTS wheels. Holden made a special HQ style stub axle incorporating Torana KPI, and a special steering arm to compensate for the 1inch lowering. Caliper type followed HJ or HX usage and Holden had to grind metal to get them to fit over the steering arm. If you try to fit them to the rear they hit the top control arm and the bump in the crossmember on full lock, causing the pads to be pushed back and no brakes next application. Rear brakes were larger HQ drums. Some later A9X reportedly had HZ rear discs, but I�ve never seen one and they don�t show in the PBR books."

Just wrote it down wrong I guess
I've spoken with him at great length about Toranas. One of his buddies was a design engineer at Holden during the LX days and he was good to chat to too about "stuff"
He's a knowledgable man for a Victorian

After reading it quite a few times, I can see how someone might read it wrong tho.
This bit was pulled from a section on how to improve the brakes, as one of the options. It clearly states how to get the bits, with a "yeah right" comment obviously meaning you aint gunna find one.Find a genuine A9X at the wreckers and fit the stubs and steering arms. (yeh right!) Personally I dont understand where you guys are coming from, taking text from a webpage without adding the additional bits explaining where it came from doesnt make any sense, because the wording in the correct context makes perfect sense to me.

One of the major differences that set the A9X apart was the rear disc 's. First Holden with factory rear discs in fact(although holden never promoted it as such, prefering to push the bigger HZ).
The guy is currently enjoying a well deserved reputation for aftermarket brake upgrades and i found it humourous that his website had such a complete furphy.
I concede that not every one is a torana nut, but this is his area of expertise.

A9X brake parts don't show up in aftermarket catalogues...... thats true
He may have never had an A9X in his shop........ so he's never seen it (thats how I read this)
Rewrite it and email it to him to be correct ....... he will change it to be more accurate
