[Pop's-SS]

G'day All

 

Well I've almost recovered from another long weekend away, away in Sydney at the Coogee Beach Point where my son Eric and his fiancee Rachel were married 

 

Noticed a yummy RED Aston Martin as I was about to go into the Coogee Bay Hotel and just couldn't resist taking a quick photo

 

 

The bridal wedding party used this as their mode of transport 

 

 

AND although the centre of interest of the weekend was my son and his wife, this little fella almost stole the lime-lite, their son and obviously my grandson Noah

 

 

Back to the original post and my take on Toranafest is that it is a "community" that gets together every 2nd year on the 3rd weekend of September and the Fest motel is a hive of activity on that weekend and changing tyres here is Keith who might know "how" directional tyres go on the front of his yummy Saffron Orange 5000

 

 

AND once again these two strapped for cash Torana owners had to camp in the back of their Hatchbacks for lack of $$$$'s to get a motel room 

 

 

BUT they settled in quite well so lets just call them "happy campers"

 

 

This year the Fest motel has under-gone some reno's to their servery in the restaurant and it looks magnificent 

 

 

 

BUT some of the condiments needed printed descriptions of what they are and what they can be used for

 

 

 

 

Some of those names I couldn't even pronounce 

 

When it was time to put on the feedbag, the room soon filled up 

 

 

A bowler hatted Pom with his lovey lady Lida enjoyed the new eatery facilities

Maybe I'm missing something here Barry but I have to ask... Why are you starting a new thread every time?

 

I'm not trying to be smart or anything but there must be half-a-dozen "Pop's Weird View of Toranafest" threads by now.

 

Is there some inside joke I'm not privy to?

Yep definitely a Jensen, although the plate is misleading, they never had the 440ci engine until the Mk III (guess he couldn't fit the extra "I"s in).

 

Italian body on an English chassis with American Chrysler running gear... a measly 383ci V8 in the early models and the mighty 440ci Hemi in the last few years of production!

 

You see one every now and then although they're very thin on the ground, from memory they cost super-car money back in the '70s, there used to be a silver one around here but I haven't seen it in years, hopefully it's still sitting safely in a shed somewhere.

The "heading" is the same BUT the "sub-headings" are different as each post has a different theme, you may like to call them different "chapters" to a story

 

AND besides that, if I keep adding photos to the one and only post,then "Pop's weird View of Toranafest" would lose its "chapter' characteristics

 

NEXT "chapter" anyway will have to wait as my computer is having a holiday with some R & R (stuff windows 10) and I am using my missus's laptop
