Hi Flatliner.

These codes are on the Body ID plate, Toranas didn't get the separate ADR Compliance plate until 1/70 LC.

Anyway, your codes says it's an Series 2 HB 2 door 'S' sedan, painted Mayan Gold (all over) & the interior trim colours are Prairie over Pampas Fawn. The body was built in Adelaide.

The chassis stamping numbers don't quite make sense, but if that last letter is a capital 'P', then it's final assembly was in the Mosman Park plant in Perth.

Thanks Dr Terry,

Your info has been fantastic, just what I needed.
Would Prairie be the main colour with Pampas Fawn around the edge and back of seats or other way around.
The reason I ask is I am getting a new carpet for it to replace the old vinyl matt that is there now and not sure what colour to get.

Also was a console of some sort an option on this model.

Could the A00175 be the build number of the body? (mine built 3/68)
Yes the P is a capital and would you know what HB 411 stands for.

Cheers Flatliner

Rob,
HB 411 means "HB" "S"

611 would be SL wouldn't it?

EG 911 in LC/J means GTR.
Terry is 911 in HB the Brabham or Series 70 code?

Console, and basically the whole interior is the same as LC.
Terry will nail down any specific differences.

How far is Neil along with his?
PM me as I have some ppl you guys need to email re:HB buildups/restos.

Grant..

Hi Guys.

Yes, in the HB series 2 the 82411 code is the 'S 2 door' & 82611 is the 'SL 2 door '& 82211 is the 'base model 2 door'. There are only two 4 doors, the 82469 S & the 82669 SL.

The 'Series 70' was an just engine option that was available on any model & the Brabham was an option 'Package' (PO XS5) & available only on the S 2 door in HB series 2. In HB series 1, there were no 4 doors & the Brabham package was available on both the S & SL.

Most of the interior (including the centre console) of the HB series 2 carries over to the LC except the seat material patterns & the height of the rear seat back. The LC/LJ has a much taller rear seat back than the HB.

Flatliner, how did you determine that your car was a 3/68 build, without a Compliance date. I have no idea which of the two interior colours is which.

After checking my paperwork I have found that the cars delivery date was 12/3/68 to City Motors over here.
I new I had seen that date for something with all the paperwork but unfortunatly it was not the build date can I find this out from the info I have.
Cheers
