I'm thinking that using a grooved clevis pin with an "E" clip could be a good option.
Could someone please measure the overall length of the the section on the A pillar that these go through as I don't have access to my car atm.

James, I get 13.85mm on the digital vernier on a NOS A pillar.

Once again thanks Dave. I figure that if I use a clevis pin with an "E" clip or something similar that it can be removed easily if needed,not that I think that it will be.
